I’ve just been sent some lovely pictures of an Idyllic summer wedding in Devon. Hannah chose an adaptation
of a dress from the Sarah Treble Couture Collection. A simple A line dress in sumptuous silk crepe. The skirt
was appliqued with lace and overlaid with silk chiffon. The little cap sleeves were edged in antique lace which
Hannah had found at an antiques fair and really wanted to use in her dress. This dress worked perfectly for
Hannah’s country, summer wedding.
Photographs by Victoria Phipps capture the mood and detail wonderfully.
Now that party season is approaching, even more people are returning to the studio to have their Sarah Treble Bespoke dress remade into an elegant evening dress or fabulous party frock.
Having spent a lot of time and money on the creation of their perfect wedding dress, many brides are loath to put it away in a box only to be looked at on rare occasions. So we started the Second Dress Service. Whereby the pattern of the wedding dress is used again. It’s amazing how the use of a completely different fabric, and a bit of subtle tweaking, can transform a design giving your wedding dress a new life.
When Olivia came to meet me at my London studio with a length of beautiful, antique French linen to make into a wedding dress, I knew it was a project I was going to really enjoy.
She had definite ideas of how she wanted the dress to look. Close fitting bodice with sleeves and turned back cuffs, nipped in waist and a full swinging skirt with net petticoats and hoops.
Combining this with vintage buttons, antique silk sash and corsage from Olivia’s collection, together we created her perfect dress.
This feather trimmed Couture dress “Osprey” flew to America with Cosmo Bride for this photoshoot in the Aug/Sept issue. The feature is called “Come Fly With Me”. The ostrich feather sleeves worked perfectly with the aviation theme.

This shot focuses on the high collar in Victorian lace and the bodice of antique lace appliqued onto organza.
