Clockwork Studios is a thriving studio of crafts, designers and makers and is an ideal stop off for Christmas presents. The studios where home to the Fun Factory, famous for Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel
Now that party season is approaching, even more people are returning to the studio to have their Sarah Treble Bespoke dress remade into an elegant evening dress or fabulous party frock.
Having spent a lot of time and money on the creation of their perfect wedding dress, many brides are loath to put it away in a box only to be looked at on rare occasions. So we started the Second Dress Service. Whereby the pattern of the wedding dress is used again. It’s amazing how the use of a completely different fabric, and a bit of subtle tweaking, can transform a design giving your wedding dress a new life.
One of my favourite florists, Emma Vowles, has opened a shop in the Avon Mill Garden Centre, Loddiswell, Kingsbridge, Devon, TQ7 4DD. Combining both flowers, home and garden accessories the shop reflects her unwavering sense of style. From antique jugs to her own range of perfumed candles the accessories compliment her beautiful seasonal and local flowers perfectly.
When Olivia came to meet me at my London studio with a length of beautiful, antique French linen to make into a wedding dress, I knew it was a project I was going to really enjoy.
She had definite ideas of how she wanted the dress to look. Close fitting bodice with sleeves and turned back cuffs, nipped in waist and a full swinging skirt with net petticoats and hoops.
Combining this with vintage buttons, antique silk sash and corsage from Olivia’s collection, together we created her perfect dress.
